PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS
CEES actively collaborates—nationally and internationally—with other institutions of higher learning and scientific research, industry, governments, communities and NGOs to create and execute innovative, interdisciplinary sustainable energy projects—at state, national and international levels. These projects are designed to analyze and improve the impact of laws and policies on the scientific, engineering, sociopolitical, and commercial dimensions of a sustainable energy future. For information on specific projects, please send an email to cees@colorado.edu.
Research and activities at CEES are organized around three interrelated program areas (see diagram below):
Access to Information: Provide the public with access to objective information and analysis regarding issues of energy and the environment.
Laws and Markets: Harness markets and entrepreneurship to expand the universe of economic opportunities—particularly for those in the developing world—in a manner that supports the ideal of sustainable development.
Appropriate Technology: Promote the development and diffusion of technology that is appropriate to the environmental, cultural and economic context for which it is intended.
